Thingness is a domestic micro-gallery run by Hannah McDonald and Martin Holm. It is currently situated in their apartment in Göteborg.
The idea not only came from a shared interest in objects, things and collecting, but also from a desire to experiment with unconventional ways of exhibiting art outside of the white cube norm.
Thingness is not just the shelf and the objects currently on display, it is also the podcast, the Instagram account, the invited artists + their guests and the opening dinner party.
In the podcasts we talk about the current work on show as well as a discussion around the invited artist’s relationship to things, objects and collecting.
