Open Process Night is an evening for experimenting, practicing, and playing. When Hannah McDonald started the event series in Bergen in 2024, it was with a desire to be able to share more text-based work—whether original essays and poems or beloved found texts that people wanted to share with others.

The concept evolved into something broader: a place where people could present work that needs the element of being live, requiring both space and an audience. This includes text readings, performative lectures, performances, and audio-visual work—things that are difficult to test alone in the studio and benefit from the energy of a live setting.

Open Process Night is intended to be an inviting and safe space where you can try things out. The works shown there do not have to be finished, they do not have to feel complete. You can submit anything you want to share and discuss, whether it is something completely new, or the beginning of something bigger. This is an evening to explore the process, rather than the final result.

Each evening follows a similar schedule: the works are all presented and then following that we come together for conversation and feedback so that you can continue to develop your ideas/work.
